Sign Fun

Well I have had a fun weekend. OnFriday at work my boss came in and gave me a piece of paper with a sign on it and said I was going to get this for you for Christmas but I lost it and then I forgot about it but this reminds me of YOU. I loved the saying on it it was BE  BOLD, BE etc.. and I said you know that does sound like me. I like it. I have been wanting to make some signs and try it to see if I can do it I think that may be my first. So I stopped at lowes on the way home and bought a board 12 inches wide by 4 foot long. I wanted my sign 12 x 24 so figured i would have hubby cut it in half. I came home and hubby promptly cut it in half for me and I painted it Valspar cream in my coffee. I put two coats of this on the boards. I did both because someone else had also shown me a sign they liked and I wanted to see if I could replicate it; So I painted both boards with 2 coats of cream in my coffee paint. I let these two layers of paint dry over night. while they were drying I went in to my Silver Bullet and got out my vinyl and cut the saying from it this took a long because it was a long saying. I was going to use the vinyl for a stencil. I cut the stencil, weeded it (wow that was alot of weeding) then I placed it on the board the next morning. Next I put one more coat on to seal around the letters of cream in my coffee paint. This will keep the black from bleeding under them. I let this sit until It was dry hubby and I ran some errands and I left it on there like this. Then when I got home I painted over this with 2 coats of black paint drying in between each for about 30 minutes. and then when the second coat was tacky enough to touch I took my tweezers and pulled the letters off. This part took a while to but I think both signs were worth the wait. These signs turned out beautifull and I can see me doing many more in the near future. :-)

I have been busy!!

Well I have been a busy bee, I work in a school system and it has been a crazy week with the catastrophe that happened this week it seems alot of kids have decided to say and do stupid things. It was a stressful week at best. I came home each night and worked in my art studio to get some destressers. I came home one night and made gifts for my grandkids teachers they were awesome I found them on Pinterest. They were little clear paint cans full of M and M's and had a wonderful poem attached. The Poem said
You place knowledge in my hands,
that melt into my heart and live forever!
You're a "Magnificent" & "Marvelous" Teacher!
Thank you for being my M&M!

then on the inside it says
Green is for the inspiration you give me each day.
Blue is for your patience in showing me the way.
Orange is for your warmth and caring style.
Yellow is for the way you always make me smile.
Red is for my life that you have touched this year.
Brown is for wiping away my Tears.

They were awesome I made 5 of them for teachers and aides. Then another night my hubby asked me to make tiles for some of his business contacts for Christmas. I was stressing about it because it was so closed to Christmas but I was able to do all 4 in one night. They turned out beautiful. The next night I made 2 more for my boss and a relay for life auction at work to raise mmoney for cancer treatments.. The next night I had some friends ask if I would make some t shirts for them as they are doing a volleyball tournament and their team name is the Twinkies and Ho Ho's. LOL I made them 7 shirts and they to came out real well. Then I made my boss a tile that was a double one because she hyphenates her last names and I didnt know how to work that out so I just did a double letter and it turned out pretty cool.

Tonight I put names on new stockings for my family. I have looked at new stockings for a while and I didnt even think of putting vinyl names on them and they turned out really well. I think I have been more creative this week than i have in 6 months. I had a very productive week.
I hope your week was productive  as well. thanks for visiting Lesa

Christmas Presents Galore

I made 7 of these Santa Chargers and I adore how they turned out. Then I made the Joy to the World Plate with a file purchased from My Vinyl Designer and it also turned out adorable. Then Sunday I worked all day on this tile for a Secret Santa. It was a very intricate file and hard to weed so it took me 9 times to get one I was pleased with but when I did I was very pleased. I got a new machine and I havent used it much it is a silver bullet and I always just use my cougar because the silver bullet is not hooked up so I rarely use it. I think I had only used it once to test it out.. Well the 8th time using my cougar to do this plate my cougar quit responding so I had to pull out the Silver Bullet and it made the plate the first time and it was beautiful. I will be using the Silver Bullet first next time.

Christmas is coming!!

Well I spent the last weekend playing in my art studio and had a great time. I created some Christmas presents after putting up the Christmas tree.

White Chili Recipe

I have found the most delicious White Chili Recipe. I am not usually a white Chili fan however I heard others rave about this and it was well worth the praise. I am an avid red chili fan and eat it any time I get the opportunity, I love this white chili because of the wing sauce in it . YUM
For anyone interested it is called

Buffalo Chicken Chili
4 cans Great Northern Beans
3 Cans Chicken Broth
1 Can Diced Green Chiles
2 Cans Cream of Chicken Soup

1 bottle of wing Sauce I used kroger brand medium wing sauce (IT HAD BITE)
Either 2 packages of (McCOrmick) White Chile Seasoning or 2 - 3 teaspoons of Ground Cumin
Cooked ground or diced chicken
Just dump into the crock pot and turn it on.
I did it when I got home so I didnt use a crock pot I just dumped it all into a large saucepan and
cooked over a low heat for about 30 minutes and it was wonderful. Let me know what you think?
