I am in Halloween mode. someone at My Tinas closet group that I belong to was talking about wire mesh being on sale a Hobby Lobby so I went to Hobby Lobby to check it out because if It was on sale I needed some of course. :-) I saw a lady making a huge wreath being made by a woman there to sale. I asked her a couple questions about it and she showed me how easy it was to make it and I decided on the spot I had t make some. I bought the stuff to make a halloween one and 3 Christmas ones because My girls will say I want one when they see it. :-) These pictures dont do it justice but here it is.

OMG LOVE THIS
I can not begin to tell you how excited I am about this item I am posting about. About a month ago I posted the tags I was making for a swap in a yahoo group called All Things Tim where we use alot of Tim Holtz items. Well I got involved in a Halloween chaos swap where you made 12 tags and each person made 12 of one size. The tags were all different sizes mine was regular tag size. Well you decorated 12 tags and sent them to a wonderful lady named Stacy and she put them all together on a canvas and also decorated the canvas with homemade charms and a wonderful topper. I recieved my finished canvas yesterday and it was the coolest thing I have ever been a part of in a swap. I am so excited. I was in group 1 and there were two more groups so this ladt put together 36 of these things. They are magnificent. My daughter in law saw it tonight on my wall and asked me to please make her one. I had to say I didnt make it I only made one of the many tags on it. I am thrilled that I decided to be a part of this. Wel enough of the talking about it I will show you how wonderful it turned out.

Mixed Media and Me
I am having a great time playing with Mixed Media and decorating things. Two weeks ago it was Altoid Tins that I loved doing. This week I am decorating a cigar box. I bought some empty Cigar boxes from Thompsons Cigar Co and they are awesome. I got 10 for 19.95 and I love them. 10 should last me forever because I cant see me doing a ton of these boxes but I love this one. First thing I did was get the box ready it looked like this before I started. Then I covered it in Gesso from Hobby Lobby in the paint department, It gives the paint something to grip on to and makes the paint cover better to get the box all one color. Next I painted it a teal green cover because I was doing crackle paint and I wanted the bottom layer the teal my bedroom is teal and tan. :-) I forgot to take a picture at this point but used Liquitex Basics acrylic paint. Then when that dryed I applied a heavy coat of crackle medium I also got at Hobby Lobby. I used Delta crackle medium and let it dry and get tacky. It says not to let it dry completely. I hear that some crackles have to dry completely this one does not. Then I took a large sea sponge and got it wet and wrung it out and applied the last coat of paint with the sponge. If you wipe the crackle or make strokes sometimes the crackle rubs off so I chose to use a sponge. If you wipe I hear that the paint crackles in the direction you paint the last coat on so I didnt want line cracks I wanted more spider cracks. I am thrilled with the way it turned out. Isn't it beautiful?Sunday, July 8, 2012
I created the cutest altoid Mint tin today I am really proud of it!! I am excited I cant post it on here yet because it is for a swap and I havent mailed it to her yet. However I was nervous about it because the lady getting it is so creative and talented that I was nervous that my work wasnt up to her standards. It is not perfect but I LOVE the way it turned out. When she messages and says she recieved it I will post pics.
