I have been busy!!

Well I have been a busy bee, I work in a school system and it has been a crazy week with the catastrophe that happened this week it seems alot of kids have decided to say and do stupid things. It was a stressful week at best. I came home each night and worked in my art studio to get some destressers. I came home one night and made gifts for my grandkids teachers they were awesome I found them on Pinterest. They were little clear paint cans full of M and M's and had a wonderful poem attached. The Poem said
You place knowledge in my hands,
that melt into my heart and live forever!
You're a "Magnificent" & "Marvelous" Teacher!
Thank you for being my M&M!

then on the inside it says
Green is for the inspiration you give me each day.
Blue is for your patience in showing me the way.
Orange is for your warmth and caring style.
Yellow is for the way you always make me smile.
Red is for my life that you have touched this year.
Brown is for wiping away my Tears.

They were awesome I made 5 of them for teachers and aides. Then another night my hubby asked me to make tiles for some of his business contacts for Christmas. I was stressing about it because it was so closed to Christmas but I was able to do all 4 in one night. They turned out beautiful. The next night I made 2 more for my boss and a relay for life auction at work to raise mmoney for cancer treatments.. The next night I had some friends ask if I would make some t shirts for them as they are doing a volleyball tournament and their team name is the Twinkies and Ho Ho's. LOL I made them 7 shirts and they to came out real well. Then I made my boss a tile that was a double one because she hyphenates her last names and I didnt know how to work that out so I just did a double letter and it turned out pretty cool.

Tonight I put names on new stockings for my family. I have looked at new stockings for a while and I didnt even think of putting vinyl names on them and they turned out really well. I think I have been more creative this week than i have in 6 months. I had a very productive week.
I hope your week was productive  as well. thanks for visiting Lesa

Christmas Presents Galore

I made 7 of these Santa Chargers and I adore how they turned out. Then I made the Joy to the World Plate with a file purchased from My Vinyl Designer and it also turned out adorable. Then Sunday I worked all day on this tile for a Secret Santa. It was a very intricate file and hard to weed so it took me 9 times to get one I was pleased with but when I did I was very pleased. I got a new machine and I havent used it much it is a silver bullet and I always just use my cougar because the silver bullet is not hooked up so I rarely use it. I think I had only used it once to test it out.. Well the 8th time using my cougar to do this plate my cougar quit responding so I had to pull out the Silver Bullet and it made the plate the first time and it was beautiful. I will be using the Silver Bullet first next time.

Christmas is coming!!

Well I spent the last weekend playing in my art studio and had a great time. I created some Christmas presents after putting up the Christmas tree.

White Chili Recipe

I have found the most delicious White Chili Recipe. I am not usually a white Chili fan however I heard others rave about this and it was well worth the praise. I am an avid red chili fan and eat it any time I get the opportunity, I love this white chili because of the wing sauce in it . YUM
For anyone interested it is called

Buffalo Chicken Chili
4 cans Great Northern Beans
3 Cans Chicken Broth
1 Can Diced Green Chiles
2 Cans Cream of Chicken Soup

1 bottle of wing Sauce I used kroger brand medium wing sauce (IT HAD BITE)
Either 2 packages of (McCOrmick) White Chile Seasoning or 2 - 3 teaspoons of Ground Cumin
Cooked ground or diced chicken
Just dump into the crock pot and turn it on.
I did it when I got home so I didnt use a crock pot I just dumped it all into a large saucepan and
cooked over a low heat for about 30 minutes and it was wonderful. Let me know what you think?

Creative Chaos Tim Holtz Style

I am so excited I joined another Creative Chaos group activity where we get a canvas with 11 different tags on it. This one is all about words and phrases and it is again from the "All Things Tim" yahoo group where we all Love Tim Holtz. It is made with Tim Holtz materials and I liked the Halloween one so much that I entered two groups so I will have two of the words and phrases canvas to hang up when they are finished. :-) I will upload pictures of my tags here when they are finished I have the one for group 3 finished it is done in a large tag. The one for group 1 is a small tag and they seem more of a challenge to me for some reason.

My creative moments today are running rampant

I am in Halloween mode. someone at My Tinas closet group that I belong to was talking about wire mesh being on sale a Hobby Lobby so I went to Hobby Lobby to check it out because if It was on sale I needed some of course. :-) I saw a lady making a huge wreath being made by a woman there to sale. I asked her a couple questions about it and she showed me how easy it was to make it and I decided on the spot I had t make some. I bought the stuff to make a halloween one and 3 Christmas ones because My girls will say I want one when they see it. :-) These pictures dont do it justice but here it is.

Halloween is coming

Well Hallloween is coming and I decided since a friend inspired me to make me a witch door hanger. I am happy with the way she turned out and she didnt take long at all. Check her out.I think she turned out pretty cute.

OMG LOVE THIS

I can not begin to tell you how excited I am about this item I am posting about. About a month ago I posted the tags I was making for a swap in a yahoo group called All Things Tim where we use alot of Tim Holtz items. Well I got involved in a Halloween chaos swap where you made 12 tags and each person made 12 of one size. The tags were all different sizes mine was regular tag size. Well you decorated 12 tags and sent them to a wonderful lady named Stacy and she put them all together on a canvas and also decorated the canvas with homemade charms and a wonderful topper. I recieved my finished canvas yesterday and it was the coolest thing I have ever been a part of in a swap. I am so excited. I was in group 1 and there were two more groups so this ladt put together 36 of these things. They are magnificent. My daughter in law saw it tonight on my wall and asked me to please make her one. I had to say I didnt make it I only made one of the many tags on it. I am thrilled that I decided to be a part of this. Wel enough of the talking about it I will show you how wonderful it turned out.

Mixed Media and Me

I am having a great time playing with Mixed Media and decorating things. Two weeks ago it was Altoid Tins that I loved doing. This week I am decorating a cigar box. I bought some empty Cigar boxes from Thompsons Cigar Co and they are awesome. I got 10 for 19.95 and I love them. 10 should last me forever because I cant see me doing a ton of these boxes but I love this one. First thing I did was get the box ready it looked like this before I started. Then I covered it in Gesso from Hobby Lobby in the paint department, It gives the paint something to grip on to and makes the paint cover better to get the box all one color. Next I painted it a teal green cover because I was doing crackle paint and I wanted the bottom layer the teal my bedroom is teal and tan. :-) I forgot to take a picture at this point but used Liquitex Basics acrylic paint. Then when that dryed I applied a heavy coat of crackle medium I also got at Hobby Lobby. I used Delta  crackle medium and let it dry and get tacky. It says not to let it dry completely. I hear that some crackles have to dry completely this one does not. Then I took a large sea sponge and got it wet and wrung it out and applied the last coat of paint with the sponge. If you wipe the crackle or make strokes sometimes the crackle rubs off so I chose to use a sponge. If you wipe I hear that the paint crackles in the direction you paint the last coat on so I didnt want line cracks I wanted more spider cracks. I am thrilled with the way it turned out.  Isn't it beautiful?

My Tim Holtz Obsession

Well I have a new Tim Holtz obsession so i have joined a Yahoo group called all Things Tim and they are doing a compendium of curiosities thing going through book 2 and everyone has to make something with each page. I happened to have the pocket watch of Tims and decided even though it is past the due date I would like to do one. So I played in my scrap book room tonight and made a tag with it. I really liked the way it turned out. It is on Grunge board .

Kentucky Subway Art

I live in Ky and a friend asked me about doing a subway art of Ky.
I think this turned out pretty cool and hope to print it out and hang
it in my house.

Vinyl Tumblers Rock

I made several of these vinyl tumblers for the gals at work for Christmas they were pretty fun to make and didnt take that much time. The girls loved them and they have them to use long after the holidays are gone.

Here are a couple of characters I made cutting files for and created cards out of the Phineas one at the bottom was for my grandsons Phineas and Ferb birthday party. The top one Sponge Bob was made for a co worker who is kind of a kid at heart even though he is in his 20's. :-) These were fun to do.

If you Pray...

I would like to ask you to pray for my great neice that was born last week her name is Payton Hope and she was born with some major heart problems. She was rushed to another hospital and surgery was done immediately and now 5 days later she is going to have to have a major surgery tomorrow Monday 2/27/2012. This is a long surgery Possibly 10 hours and it is rerouting vessels in Paytons heart that are reversed. Please pray for Payton, the Drs doing the surgery and Paytons Mommy Dawn who is not only recovering from just having a baby but worrying about that baby making it healthy through a major surgery.

Vinyl Tile Fun

I saw this tile idea at Black Cat Usa which is a site for Black Cat Cutter owners or anyone really with a craft cutter to join and get inspiration, assistance, ideas and seek out like minded individuals. It is an awesome spot and I spend alot of time there. I have gotten some wonderful inspiration there. Anyway I saw this tile made with a free font and decided I had to make some. I made one and it turned into 3 when my daughter and daughter in law saw it  now we all have one. I love the way it turned out.

Wall Art

I just put some wall art up on my wall and I like the way it turned out. I love this saying it is so true.

More cards

This was a challenge where they selected the layout and you just made your card to match their layout. As you can see I foiled it with my new Black Cat foil machine. I love that machine I am foiling everything these days. You just need a black and white laser printer and the foil machine and foil and you can foil anything I have had the best time with it.
I also foiled the James Bond type card below.
